Job Opportunity: SEN Teaching Assistant – Outstanding Primary School in Ealing
We are looking for a caring and dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join an Outstanding primary school in Ealing. This full-time, fixed-term position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with a student on a one-to-one basis and assist the class teacher in creating an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
Located in a central area of Ealing, the school is renowned for its commitment to excellence, innovative teaching approaches, and a holistic focus on each child’s development.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one support for a student with additional learning needs, including Autism, ADHD, or other developmental challenges.
* Collaborate with the class teacher to tailor lessons, activities, and learning resources to meet the individual needs of the student.
* Support the student’s social development and help them engage with peers during group activities and classroom discussions.
* Monitor and track the student's progress, offering feedback to the class teacher, SENCO, and parents.
* Help maintain a positive, supportive, and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages all students to succeed.
* Adhere to safeguarding and child protection policies, ensuring the safety and well-being of students at all times.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
* Experience working with children with SEN in a school or childcare setting.
* A strong understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other learning difficulties.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
* Patience, empathy, and the ability to connect with children.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with a team of educators and support staff.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills:
* Relevant qualifications in education or child development (e.g., Level 3 Teaching Assistant Diploma).
* Familiarity with behaviour management strategies.
* Understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) or Primary School curriculum.
