Minimum Requirements:
1. A degree level qualification in Human Factors/ Ergonomics accredited by the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors
2. Chartered Member of Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors
3. Managing human performance
4. Human Factors risk assessment of safety critical tasks that may lead to major accidents.
5. Human factors integration in design – application of JSP 912 (for new build projects and safety critical equipment)
6. Safety critical communications
7. Safety critical procedures
8. Competence management
9. Human factors based risk assessment techniques particularly safety critical task analysis (SCTA)
10. Integration of management of Human Factors risk into more general health, safety and environmental protection risks
11. Practical experience and understanding of managing risks in high hazard environments
Desirable Qualifications:
1. Experience of working on a site regulated under Control of major accident hazard regulations (or equivalent e.g. MACR)
2. Experience of working in other high hazard industrial or research industries
3. Experience of “Process” or “System” Safety for example JSP 912
4. Awareness of the impact of human factors with regard to environmental protection
