Experienced special agents, forensic scientists, and other law enforcement experts’ staff BCI’s three main divisions: 1) Identifications 2) Investigations and 3) Laboratory.
Job Description:
The Ohio Attorney General's Office is currently seeking a public-minded individual for Clerk 2 vacancy in the Bureau of Criminal Identification (BCI) Section, London office. This position will report to the London, OH location daily. The Bureau of Criminal Identification, known as BCI, houses the state’s official crime lab and identification services serving all of Ohio, as well as the criminal justice community. BCI also provides expert criminal investigative services to local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies upon request. With offices throughout the state, BCI stands ready to respond 24/7 to law enforcement agencies’ needs. The duties of these positions include but are not limited to the following:
* Under the general supervision of the Identification Supervisor, the Clerk 2 performs general clerical tasks in the mailroom, front desk, and file room at the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI).
* Maintains files of receipts from mailings and mailing lists for law enforcement agencies (e.g., overnight mail, certified mail, UPS).
* Provides information to employees at BCI concerning mailing procedures.
* Operates personal computer to enter and retrieve data into division databases.
* Performs other clerical tasks: counts, alphabetizes, separates, collates, codes, files, sorts and distributes records.
* Operates mail sorting machine.
* Assists in sorting, picking up, distributing and/or sending out mail to appropriate sections, offices or post office.
* Prepares Express and/or UPS letters and packages.
* Labels, folds and/or staples materials.
* Acts as receptionist (e.g., greets and registers visitors; answers and routes calls; pages employees).
* Types various materials-Operates personal computer as needed.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
High School Diploma; 4 mos. trg. or 4 mos. exp. in office practices & procedures; 3 mos. trg. or 3 mos. exp. in use of personal computer; 3 mos. trg. or 3 mos. exp. in customer service.
