We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician role at HMP Lewes to join our team. HMP Lewes is a category B male prison located near the centre of the historical town of Lewes, which is just a 5-minute walk away.
Due to HMP Lewes holding remand prisoners, we require staff to work on a rota basis. You may be asked to work nights, bank holidays, and weekends; however, if you are looking for flexibility, we can discuss this at the interview stage.

This position is full-time, 37.5 hours a week, and you will receive an annual salary of up to £31,710 per annum FTE, depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK on a permanent basis, and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
Main Duties of the Job
You will be required to support the delivery of Pharmacy Services, which will be part of a comprehensive healthcare package based on the prison services needs. Working on the prison wings, you can expect to be involved in everything from medicine management, administering medications, patient counselling, and medicines reconciliation. You may be required to participate in certain activities concerning the day-to-day operational management of the unit and must ensure that you are trained and competent to take on these additional responsibilities. You will need to demonstrate assessment skills, including the undertaking of risk assessments, and have sound patient counselling skills, treating patients with respect and dignity at all times. If you are self-motivated and able to work autonomously as well as showing plenty of initiative when it comes to handling a wide range of situations, then this could be the right role for you!
