Locum Consultant in Gynaecology - Endometriosis Surgery

We are looking to appoint a full time locumConsultant with special interest in Endometriosis to Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust based at the Jessop Wing of the Royal Hallamshire Hospital. This post is fixed term for 12 months.
Any candidate who is unable for personal reasons to work full-time will be eligible to be considered for the post; if such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis with the Trust in consultation with consultant colleagues.
Main duties of the job
Gynaecology commitments would include a general gynaecology clinic, endometriosis clinic, two operating lists per week with a session of MDT and Gynaecology on call with a frequency of 1 in 11.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered (or eligible to be registered) with the GMC with a licence to practise.
* Name on the specialist register for relevant specialty. If an applicant is UK trained, they must also be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT).
* Postgraduate professional qualifications as appropriate to post i.e MRCOG or equivalent.
* MD or PhD or equivalent
* Advanced laparoscopic ATSM or equivalent e.g fellowship in laparoscopy
Research
* Ability to critically assess published research and incorporate it into clinical practice where appropriate.
* Publications in Peer reviewed journals.
Teaching and training
* Experience of teaching student doctors and doctors in training at all levels
CPD
* Evidence of participation in CME/CPD in the last 12 months
* Maintenance of a CPD diary or portfolio
Personal attributes
* Demonstrates behaviour consistent with PROUD values (see appendix)
* Good oral and written communication skills
Clinical Governance and Audit
* Experience in performing clinical audit
* Completion and publication of a substantive audit project or service improvement project
Management and Administration
* Evidence of the understanding of the systems and structures of NHS Management
Clinical experience
* Ability to work as an independent practitioner.
* Evidence of competence in advanced laparoscopic surgery.
* Evidence of competence in advanced endometriosis surgery.
* Experience in complex minimal access surgery.
* Evidence of MDT meetings and leading clinical decisions.
* Ability to deal with all complex obstetric and gynaecological emergency presentations.
