Job Title: Legal Helpline ParalegalSalary: £23,000 - £27,600Location: SheffieldJob About the Role: In this role, you will provide chargeable general and preliminary legal support on a range of UK jurisdiction commercial and personal legal matters, primarily over the phone. You will be expected to deliver exceptional service in every interaction while maintaining the firm's reputation and mitigating any financial or reputational risks. Key Responsibilities: Offer general and preliminary legal advice, ensuring it remains non-specific and within regulatory and policy guidelines, while adhering to safe legal advice training. Conduct research on more complex and unique inquiries using available knowledge tools and subject matter experts to provide accurate legal information. Stay updated with changes in UK law and engage in proactive legal research to improve proficiency across various legal inquiries. Specialize in specific legal areas, working to deepen your expertise and represent the Legal Helpline within those areas. Understand and align with commercial agreements for each scheme, ensuring the delivery of excellent service while also maintaining a focus on achieving the firm's commercial objectives. Demonstrate empathy by putting yourself in the caller's position, offering advice that can be practically applied, and clearly communicating risks, options, and benefits. Identify when legal matters require specific legal support and professionally guide clients toward seeking more in-depth assistance. Evaluate legal claims against the terms and conditions of Legal Expenses insurance policies, identifying exceptions and communicating these clearly to policyholders. Recognize vulnerable callers and take appropriate action to provide additional support when necessary. Ensure an authentic and inclusive service experience, adapting to the unique needs of each enquirer to guarantee equal access to high-quality service. Collaborate effectively with your colleagues to achieve shared goals, fostering a supportive, team-oriented environment. About You: A UK Law Degree (LLB or equivalent) with a 2:1 or above. Proven experience in customer or client care. Fluent in English, both spoken and written. Strong computer skills and a high level of competence with relevant tools. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to show professionalism, empathy, and understanding in all client interactions. Excellent time management skills and the ability to work within defined timelines. Call handling experience is desirable.
