The Role:
Hands on and driven Project Manager required for a main contractor to deliver an existing cladding project in North London, with c12 months remaining. The client is also dangling another £20m job around the corner (potentially 10yrs cladding in London) so the delivery of this project holds great importance.
The Project:
·£13m cladding project comprises of Hilti Facades with NVELOPE back frame, on circa 300 apartments, with existing cladding to be stripped back to the concrete. The work includes all fire stops, fire breaks and fire barriers.
·The contractor has been on site for just over a year and current stage is: one elevation has been stripped, with new cladding currently going back on.
·This is a challenging project due to Network rail tracks on both sides of the building.
·Team consists of a visiting contracts manager, a site manager and an RLO.
·This is a sizeable job with lots going on; 26 cradles hanging from 6 elevations, with £0.5m on just one elevation. 10 storeys high - 100m long. £0.5m of temp structures on the roof - holding the cradles. 60 workers on site
Must have:
·At least 3yrs cladding experience, ideally working for a main contractor as a Project Manager or Contracts Manager
·Working knowledge of Microsoft Projects (must be able to knock up a short-term target programme - 3-4 week look ahead). The company has people who create and update the main programme.
·Good knowledge of RAMS - to liaise with the company in house HSE
·Confident, presentable and assertive in client meetings
·Excellent with paperwork. This is a very much a paperwork exercise / office-based role with occasional site walk-arounds, with a site team reporting to you.
·Used to reporting upstream and delivering correct info downstream (head in the details, drawings - lots of checking over and over)
·Ideally some time spent (track-record) with previous employers
·Working at Height - experience and knowledge (would not suit someone afraid of heights..)
·Good knowledge of hoists, cradles and scaffold (130 ft high elevations)

The Character:
·The Project Manager will ideally be a firm character, who can present reports well in sub-contract meetings, be confident and presentable when face to face with the client, yet be hands on management style with the tradesmen. This would someone who likes to see, feel and talk about what's going on rather than be sat behind a desk.
