Job Description:
Seeking Family Medicine Physician Assistant to join Worcester, MA practice as a primary care provider and APP Trainer. The APP Trainer will work in a hybrid role including training newly hired Advanced Practice Providers and providing medical services for patients. The APP Trainer is part of the clinical team and collaborates with other members to deliver patient care. This is a full-time role with 20 hours of direct patient care and 20 hours of APP support, training, education, and professional development.
Training Responsibilities:
* Train 1-2 new Advanced Practice Providers (APP), such as nurse practitioners or physician assistants hired within the last two years.
* Review new-hire APP charts during the first month; then review approximately ten APP charts monthly.
* APPs will list the APP Trainer physician within their MSCR.
* Coordinate with MAVEN services.
* Precepting: observe and shadow APPs, evaluate based on competencies including history taking, physical exam skills, data analysis, management/plan formation, procedures, and problem-solving.
Primary Care Responsibilities:
* Provide medical care for acute, chronic, or preventive health issues.
* Examine patients, develop diagnostic and treatment plans, order tests, and interpret results.
* Perform procedures within reproductive/pregnancy health scope, including IUD and Nexplanon insertions/removals, cervical exams, and prenatal care when appropriate.
* Determine need for specialist consultation and assist in care accordingly.
* Maintain and update Electronic Health Records (EHR) accurately within 48 hours.
* Participate in rotating after-hours and weekend call schedules.
