PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The purpose of the position is to grow and service the business, find opportunities in the market and develop relationships with our customers, hauliers and suppliers to achieve maximum orders in both volume and profit.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
* Deliver in line with monthly new business targets and year to date revenue targets.
* Develop and retain key relationships with customers.
* Ensure that customers consistently receive an excellent experience across pricing, service and end to end administration.
* Handle a variety of business challenges in a dynamic and varied environment.
* Lead from the front in chasing leads to convert new business opportunities.
* Be the main point of contact for customers, ensuring 100% satisfaction and commitment.
* Create and produce daily/weekly/monthly reports, ensuring all data is accurate and delivered within the specified time scale.
* Manage customer expectations in line with achievable operational service levels.
* Make calls to all leads gathered and work on obtaining personal leads, while achieving all sales targets.
* Gather relevant data, freight profiles and book appointments with potential new customers.
* Act as first point of contact with potential new customers and encourage ongoing communications throughout their onboarding process.
* Communicate with other departments regarding details of potential new customers.
* Set up all new accounts on relevant internal systems, including the updating of existing and new customer rate cards.
* Arrange face-to-face meetings with key decision makers via cold calling both on the road and on the phone.
* Sell the company’s services to new and existing clients.
* Undertake presentations at board level to potential customers.
REQUIREMENTS
* Experience in the Transport Industry preferred.
* Self-motivated, professional and proactive individual who is able to generate new business.
* Independent decision maker with the ability to interact within a busy team environment.
* Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
* Good organisational skills.
* Good analytical and planning skills.
* A flexible approach to work.
* High level of IT & PC literacy and ability to adapt to new technology.
* High levels of numeracy and literacy.
* Full UK driving licence.
