We are looking for an enthusiastic and recovery-focused occupational therapist looking to develop their career in forensic and complex mental health care. You may already have experience in rehabilitation and/or other areas of secondary health care, or be looking to move to a different specialism. We'd love to hear from you if you have an interest in supporting social models of mental health recovery, in trauma-informed approaches and in supporting people whose previous experiences of care may not have helped them on the path to recovery and social integration.
Main duties of the job
At Heatherwood Court, we pride ourselves on our approach to people with the most complex needs. Using the CHIME framework for mental health recovery, we support people to develop co-produced recovery plans that encompass all areas of their lives beyond a simple focus on symptomatic recovery.
To do this, we need the skills of a diverse MDT. Our therapies teams are at the centre of this approach, working alongside colleagues from nursing, psychiatry, and psychology to deliver the best standard of care. Alongside the traditional MDT, we have a dedicated activities and therapies coordinator role, who supports the planning and integration of the hospital's programme of therapeutic support.
