Our Client is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Representative to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years sales experience, preferably in hardware/construction or similar industry. This role requires a self-motivated individual who excels in customer relationship management and has a proven ability to generate new sales opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain communication and excellent service with the existing client base by calling on them on a weekly basis.
* Establish new accounts by planning regular visits to potential clients, closely monitoring new account growth.
* Communicate new products, information or feedback to clients to help address their current and future needs.
* Attend / assist clients with price queries and negotiate prices within the parameters as set by management.
* Provide timely responses to all email and telephonic communication from new and existing clients, this includes providing quotations on request ect.
* Keep management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.
* Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, and merchandising techniques and report back monthly.
* Recommends changes in products, services, and policies by evaluating results and competitive developments.
* Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies where possible.
* Participate in quarterly stock takes as well as conduct stock checks on products and liaise with buyer admin for ordering and potential stock shortages
* Ensure clients receive their order as requested, in the correct condition and in a timely manner by communicating delivery requirements and following up on schedules with the team.
* Ensure that customers are credit worthy or that the sale is in fact paid for (liaise with finance department) before any orders leave the premises.
* If product is damaged, ensure management is made aware of the fault so that a refund or replacement can be arranged.
* Liaise with manager regarding identified problems and/or customer suggestions/complaints so that they can be improved on/rectified.
* Assist manager with ideas for a sales strategy for slow movers and growing market share.
* Keep filing of customer documentation up to date at all times, this includes the above mentioned activity and results reports.
* Typically work on arriving in office at 8am, leaving to call on customers from 9am and being back in office at 4pm.
* Assist with ad-hoc tasks, as requested
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience Required:
* Must have a matric certificate (preferably with mathematics)
* Fluent in Afrikaans
* 3-5 years sales experience (preferably in hardware/construction or similar industry);
any additional business qualifications would be beneficial.
