We are looking for a Waste and Recycling Driver Collector for a superb social enterprise in Manchester who promote sustainable resource management by offering advice, information and education services within the wider community.

Operating from their secure Manchester site on New Smithfield Market, they have over 20 years’ experience in supplying waste management and recycling services. Income from their recycling services funds the work of their Charity, so customers are happy in the knowledge that they are helping people in need, as well as tackling climate change.
About the role
As Waste and Recycling Driver Collector, you will be part of a dedicated team responsible for collecting waste and recycling from businesses across Greater Manchester, plus Liverpool. This is a multi-drop role working across a number of different premium services in the Recycling team. Your day may include collecting bagged waste from offices, swapping over 240 litre bins, or driving a bin truck and lifting 1,100 litre bins.
About you
You will be the face of the organisation to customers and you need to demonstrate excellent communication skills, a positive and professional approach to customer service, and a commitment to the 3Rs.
To be successful for the role of Waste and Recycling Driver Collector, you must have / be:
1. Experience driving commercial vehicles (up to 7.5 tonne or Class 2)
2. Capable of lifting up to 25kg
3. Willing to undertake security vetting due to the confidential nature of the waste collected
4. Good geographic knowledge of Greater Manchester
5. Experience managing and prioritising your own workload to meet deadlines
6. A clean driving licence is preferred, and all points must be declared.
About the hours & rewards
In the role of Waste and Recycling Driver Collector you will work 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday and the salary on offer is £11.54 per hour for licences up to 7.5 tonne and £12.54 for Class 2 licence.
