To support continued expansion of the Trust's internal development function, we require a Head of Development who has experience of leading large dev functions and has the technical capability to support the Trust's cloud-first development strategy.
This role will define the future of technology within the Trust but also impact wider within the region and on a national level with involvement on a wide variety of projects.

Main duties of the job
The post holder is professionally accountable as the Lead Architect, Developer, and mentor to the development teams within Digital Services. The post holder will be responsible for highly complex strategic and innovative solutions with the ability to present and articulate technical executions clearly and concisely to internal and external stakeholders.

Essential
* Professional knowledge acquired through degree or equivalent experience, and specialist knowledge acquired through postgraduate courses & experience to Masters or equivalent level plus in-depth managerial, technical, and strategic knowledge.
* Requires highly developed, in-depth specialist knowledge, underpinned by theory and professional experience of disciplines including technical development, Quality Assurance, and IM&T service delivery acquired through training and experience over an extended period.

* It is an essential requirement of the role that the post holder has a valid driving licence and is either a car owner and able to use the car for work purposes, or has a Trust personal lease vehicle which may be used for the role. * Expert knowledge and practical experience with implementing CMS search capabilities using Lucene and SOLR
