Are you an enthusiastic, motivated Dietitian with a keen interest in Paediatric Cardiology? Do you have a passion for supporting children and families? We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Dietitian to join our Paediatric Dietetic Department team to take up this exciting post on a fixed term basis covering a maternity leave position. You will be a core and valued member of the Congenital Cardiology multidisciplinary team working closely with consultants, medical teams, specialist nurses, SLTs, physiotherapists and psychologists. You will provide a proactive and coordinated nutrition and dietetic service to both in and out patients.
Main duties of the job
Provide advanced, highly specialised dietetic care to children with a congenital cardiac diagnosis and their families and carers at a local and regional level. This will include advice to in-patients, out-patients and all healthcare staff.
Provide and lead aspects of clinical training for dietetic students, support the Clinical Dietetic Manager (Children's services) in coordinating activities of the team and providing support and supervision to staff.
About us
We are currently 34 full and part-time Children's Dietitians & dietetic assistants, providing a wide range of secondary, tertiary, and supra-regional services based at the Leeds Children's Hospital. We are part of the wider Nutrition and Dietetic Service in Leeds Teaching Hospitals. You will be expected to provide cover for colleagues within the multi-specialty Children's dietetic team at times of annual leave or sickness. We will support you with appropriate training opportunities to facilitate this. You will be fully involved in student training, contributing to the provision of training programmes for A, B and C placement learners. Our team has excellent support from four dietetic assistants and the admin team. You will have access to IT and library facilities.

Qualifications
* BSc (Hons) Nutrition & Dietetics or equivalent.
* Experience of working as a Dietitian at a senior level including paediatric experience.
* Registered for Diploma of Advanced Dietetic Practice, Masters module(s), or equivalent experience as demonstrated through portfolio.
* HPC registration.
* Evidence of audits or research projects undertaken.
* BDA membership.
* Attendance at BDA accredited course in clinical specialist area.
* Experience of working in the area of Paediatric Cardiology.
Other criteria
* Able to fulfil Occupational Health requirements for the post. This includes clearance on blood borne viruses in compliance with Trust Policy.
