Main duties of the job
As a newly qualified Nurse at NNUH you will be part of one of the largest acute trusts in the UK, with the exceptional facilities, training and support that you would expect to go with that. The trust is proud of our modern, purpose built campus which we continue to invest in with numerous exciting projects in the pipeline. In particular the Surgery Critical and Emergency Care Division are developing services for recognition as a Major Trauma Centre, enhancing clinical education posts and growth of the brand new Norfolk & Norwich Orthopaedic Centre which opened this summer amongst other projects!
Being a registered nurse at NNUH means working closely as part of a collaborative team of over 8000 to provide the best quality in warm, understanding and people focused patient care as we welcome over a million patients annually from across Norfolk, Suffolk and further afield.
Job responsibilities
Clinical
* Ensure practice is in accordance with the NMC Code and work within limits of competence.
* Assist in the management of patient case load under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
* To accurately and promptly carry out the instructions of the Registered Nurse who is professionally accountable for the delivery of care.
* Carry out assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of nursing care under the direction of a more senior member of staff.
Communication
* Communicate effectively within the nursing team, multi-disciplinary team and other departments to ensure that patient care is well planned and coordinated.
Professional Development
* To commence the Trusts Preceptorship Programme, identifying learning objectives and beginning the preceptorship documentation using the KSF outline as a guide.
* To complete Ward/Department and Trust induction and mandatory training as required.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Completion of Pre-Registration training to diploma or degree level (final award to be confirmed).
Experience
* Recent experience of nursing in an acute hospital environment.
* Knowledge / experience of relevant speciality.
Skills
* Good communication and inter-personal skills.
* Ability to maintain high standards of care.
* Interested in mentoring, supervision and teaching and assessing.
* Effective role model, demonstrating NNUH's PRIDE values of People focussed, Respect, Integrity, Dedication and Excellence.

£26,530 to £36,483 a year per annum, pro rata.
