Job summary A unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced Physiotherapist with a passion for working with older adults to support the inpatient mental health service based at NewHaven, Bromsgrove. Woodland Ward for functional mental health care and recovery and Meadow Ward, which provides specialist assessment and treatment for people living with dementia. Main duties of the job Undertake physiotherapy assessments and treatment of patients who have been admitted into hospital due to their mental health needs, including dementia. To promote physical wellbeing and to reduce risk of physical deterioration. Using health promotion, interpersonal skills and physical activity to facilitate recovery and wellbeing. Work flexibly and in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team, to plan, deliver and evaluate patient's progress Use 1:1 exercise programmes, group exercise, accessing the community and to support the Occupational Therapy Team with community assessments. Educate health care professionals, physiotherapy students, carers in physiotherapeutic management. Improve the provision of physical activity through service development and quality assurance processes. Provide physiotherapy assessment (as required) to the OA Hospital at Home Service.
