Job Advert: Mechanical Estimator (HVAC Services) Location: Glasgow Salary: Up to £55,000 including car allowance (DOE) Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and driven Mechanical Estimator (HVAC Services) to join the M&E Division. This permanent role offers unique challenges, a varied workload, and fantastic career progression opportunities within our company. The Position Reporting directly to the Estimating Director, you will be a key part of our estimating department, working on mechanical services across a range of commercial, industrial, and residential construction projects. Your role will involve producing accurate estimates on time for adjudication, successfully negotiating tenders, and supporting project handovers to ensure the successful delivery of contracts. This is a long-term position with flexible working arrangements based at our Glasgow branch. Key Responsibilities Reviewing and assessing tender documentation and requirements to develop competitive bids. Agreeing tender values with clients and negotiating successful outcomes. Identifying and reporting on risks, opportunities, and project scopes. Maintaining spreadsheets and preparing reports relating to tender submissions. Collaborating with the estimating team to ensure high-quality and competitive tenders. Ensuring compliance with health and safety, quality, and environmental legislation. Producing accurate net estimates with detailed breakdowns for adjudication. Seeking value engineering opportunities throughout the tendering process. What We Are Looking For A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar estimating role (desirable). A qualification in Estimating or Quantity Surveying (desirable). Strong understanding and knowledge of estimating and quantity surveying. Full UK driving licence. Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills. Strong negotiation and decision-making abilities. Analytical mindset with excellent time management skills. Commercial awareness with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and architects to build lasting relationships. Why Join?
