An opportunity has arisen to join a successful manufacturing company, based on Flixborough Industrial Estate. We are looking for an experienced Production Manager to join them on their mission of preserving food and the planet by offering good quality, value, and service.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Take ownership of the production department and all manufacturing operations.
2. Assess, interrogate, and implement production schedule as provided by the Managing Director and Operations Manager. Manage shifts/team to deliver the production plan without compromising safety, quality, or efficiency.
3. Lead Shift managers effectively in line with company vision, policies, and procedures.
4. Ensure the team complies with all relevant company policies and procedures.
5. Work closely with supervisors, quality, health and safety, engineering, and logistics functions to deliver agreed production goals and targets.
6. Work with Health & Safety and Training departments to develop, update, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures, Safe Working Procedures, and best practices for production operations.
7. Develop an excellent knowledge of the plant and process to help make informed decisions.
8. Manage departmental issues and queries, escalating to Senior Management as required.
9. Ensure production lines and processes are functioning efficiently and effectively.
10. Manage and evaluate resources to maximise productivity and minimise downtime.
11. Ensure effective and accurate manning to deliver customer requirements within the expected timescales.
12. Recognise future demands and drive readiness to meet these needs.
13. Work closely with the purchasing department to ensure materials are available at the point of use.
14. Drive excellence and continuously strive for improvement.
15. Complete key people processes such as performance reviews, investigations, disciplinaries, and other communications.
16. Effectively manage the workload of your team.
17. Collate production data and use it as a source of improvement.
Hours of work are Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm, some flexibility is required due to business needs as and when required.
THE CANDIDATE:
1. Minimum 3 years background in a manufacturing management environment.
2. Process excellent communication and organisational skills.
