What you’ll do
The ‘Stores & Supply Chain Solutions’ organization delivers the software and systems that support the movement of millions of products around the globe and their sale in store.
As a Manager of Engineering in the Supply Chain Team, you will be accountable for the overall engineering/technical health of Supply Chain products and Engineering talent management within and across the team. In this pivotal role you will:
* Manage and lead multiple Engineering teams in an Agile environment, including Engineers at various levels of seniority, from ‘early in career’ through to our most senior developers
* Anticipate demand and hire/facilitate the hiring of skilled internal & external Engineering talent
* Take accountability for the overall technical health of our products, and lead our Engineers in defining the technical aspects of our product roadmap
* Partner with Architecture to determine solution architecture and technology choices, and Product Management to agree future delivery priorities
* Hold accountability for establishing and ensuring best Engineering practices are followed
* Play a lead role in the TJX Engineering Community of Practice, helping to shape and drive Engineering best practice within the organization.
What you’ll need
We want creative people that are familiar with the challenges of designing, developing and deploying software in the cloud, especially Microsoft Azure, as we continue to modernize our business for decades to come.
Must have:
* Significant Engineering management experience
* Extensive line management experience of technical people, across a broad range of disciplines
* A track record of coaching, mentoring and developing Engineering talent at all levels of seniority
* A passion for technology and a broad technical background. You may be asked to manage technical professionals from a broad range of disciplines, including MS stack software developers, data integration specialists, DevOps specialists, QA automation specialists etc.
* Strong collaboration and leadership skills.
* Extensive professional software engineering experience and 3+ years leading and developing teams as a manager
