The role…
This role will require you to work in partnership with the warehouse teams as well as all other departments to enhance the efficiency of the operation. You will successfully lead, develop, and manage the warehouse management team, and colleagues in performance targets and all other activities.
The successful applicant must have the highest understanding of our customer expectations and requirements, whilst ensuring compliance to H&S regulations, Cost control and KPIs.
Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, this position holds responsibility for the day-to-day operation, as well as the continuous improvement of our people and processes.
How will you contribute…
* Assist the Warehouse Manager in overseeing daily operations and ensuring efficient workflow within the warehouse, including cover.
* Manage warehouse Supervisors, providing guidance, feedback, and support to engage teams.
* Assist with scheduling and delegating tasks to optimize team productivity and successfully achieving daily targets.
* Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs, whilst managing people through any changes.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and any other contractual obligations.
* Conduct regular training sessions on safety protocols and operational procedures to upskill all teams.
* Create enhanced KPI’s to monitor performance.
* Create and implement processes for performance appraisal, and resolving performance-related problems.
* Work with the management team to achieve efficient use of our fully automated high bay warehouse (ASRS).
* Work directly with stock control to identify stock management and data management priorities.
* Create and execute a culture of recognition and rewards to help staff feel appreciated.
What will you bring?
* Warehouse management experience of over 5 years, ideally gained within a fast-paced, logistical distribution environment.
* Leadership of a team with awareness and adherence to Health & Safety.
* Excellent team building, leadership, and motivational skills.
* Ability to build strong and effective relationships with colleagues by demonstrating an elevated level of integrity and professionalism.
* Experience of Warehouse Management Systems, Software, and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
* Customer-driven with excellent leadership and communication skills, able to build effective relationships with team, and other departments and external stakeholders.
* Experience of working within Continuous Improvement programmes.
* Enthusiastic, committed, and able to respond in a positive manner to change.
* Highly numerate with excellent written skills.
* Strong planning analytical skills.
* Ability to demonstrate commitment, enthusiasm, and flexibility.
