Duties will also include Reporting to the QEHS Laboratory Team Leader, you will be conducting tests to analyse finished products and materials to accredited standards, methods, approved equipment and working practices You will be interpreting and analysing results, reporting accordingly and escalating non-conformance issues as required Day to day you will be ensuring that instrumentation is functioning and that calibrated and verified methods are used You will be responsible for maintaining the laboratory documentation and LIMS system to accreditation standards Training and sharing of skills and experience to promote self and team development Contribute in factory and departmental quality auditing Supervise routine service call-outs Testing of new concepts and products Cleaning and maintenance of the laboratory area Maintain laboratory safety and 5S levels The role will involve working on a rotating 12hr shift pattern which includes both early and late shifts. Flexibility with shift placement essential. What you’ll need in order to be successful in the role An understanding of microbiology or chemistry laboratories and previous work experience within a lab based environment an advantage. Good understanding of maths and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills Food sector experience would be preferred but not essential A passion for science Candidates must have a positive, organised and resilient approach to all aspects of their work and be able to maintain excellent relationships with colleagues and external stakes holders Strong attention to detail is required and good IT skills with any exposure to SAP would be an advantage Things We’d Love To Tell You About Arla We are a farmer- owned cooperative.
