We seek to appoint a Lifeguard to join our fantastic team.
Tewkesbury Academy Sports Centre is based in the grounds of Tewkesbury Academy. It is a dual-use centre, which means that the school students use the facilities during school hours and the wider community can use the facilities in the evenings, at weekends and during the school holidays.
Tewkesbury Academy Sports Centre Swim School provides swimmers the opportunity to develop from beginners through to an advanced level.
You will be part of a team of officers who are collectively responsible for the effective delivery of a range of services throughout the facility. The Lifeguard team works within a shift pattern, which includes working evenings and weekends.
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
* Supervising the security and safety of the public, ensuring their enjoyment in all areas of the facility and carrying out rescues as required.
* Assisting the Duty Officer in the preparation and activities of Tewkesbury School Swimming Pool in a professional manner to ensure a high quality of service is provided to pool users and visitors.
* Maintaining the facility to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene at all times.
The interview process will be a swim test. If this is passed, there will be an interview. For those who are not NPLQ qualified, they will be expected to complete it.
The Academy is well placed at Junction 9 of the M5. It is equidistant between Bristol and Birmingham and close to the Cotswolds, the Malvern Hills and the historic towns of Gloucester, Worcester and Cheltenham. Tewkesbury itself is a pretty, medieval market town with fine half-timbered buildings, overhanging upper storeys, narrow alleys and a beautiful 12th-century Norman abbey.
