About the role:
You will provide support to children and young people aged 5-18 years who have moderate to severe learning disabilities, behavioural challenges, ADHD, and autism spectrum disorder.
You will work with the young people to promote daily living skills, assist and support them to self-regulate, and develop independent living skills in line with a support plan designed around the young person.
As part of the care and support team, you will assist in maintaining a safe and enabling environment that provides positive experiences to children living within the service.
Successful applicants will be responsible for:
* Supporting, mentoring, and educating children with day-to-day activities to develop their emotional and social needs.
* Developing personal and practical skills to enhance independent living.
* Positive engagement to encourage children and young people in their development.
* Reporting and recording key aspects of care and developing your professional skills as part of an ongoing development plan.
* Managing complex behaviors that may challenge.
* Supporting and engaging with a range of activities.
