Key responsibilities include: Preparation of the monthly Management Accounts, including: Revenue calculations Review of overheads Month end journals including prepayments and accruals Department statistics Headcount and performance targets Maintaining fixed asset register Supporting junior members of the Finance team on day to day queries, including: Month end processes Legal Practice Management System guidance VAT and SRA issues Ad-hoc queries Learning and development Reviewing and approving: Electronic payments on HSBCnet, ensuring controls and fraud checks are followed General daily support to the legal departments, providing financial guidance to non-finance staff, including: Interpreting general ledgers Legal Practice Management System guidance Ad-hoc financial analysis Support the Finance Operations Manager throughout our annual audit, assisting with the supply of requested information. Ad-hoc analysis to support decision making for the Management Team, and helping to drive improved business performance Looking for and suggesting financial improvement opportunities for the Firm based on the Management Account preparation. Looking for and suggesting efficiency improvements within the Finance processes, reporting improvements, and any other opportunity to improve the role and value it brings to the team and wider Firm. Ad-hoc support as required on a variety of projects that are firm-wide in scope. Qualifications and Experience Qualified or part qualified- CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent. QBE would also be considered. Experience of working in professional services (legal sector preferred) and/or industry. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (required). Experience in producing management accounts. Experience working with/from financial practice management systems (legal practice management systems desirable).
