We are seeking to recruit a Clinical Psychologist for NHS Forth Valley’s Learning Disability Psychology Team. The service is small but well established, and works very closely with the Learning Disability Partnerships across Forth Valley and with Loch View Assessment & Treatment Unit. This post is a great opportunity to work alongside the head of service in ensuring the systematic provision of specialist psychological assessment and treatment for adults with a learning disability and their carers. The post holder will play a key role in providing support and advice regarding the governance and provision of high quality psychological work to the Community Learning Disability Teams. One day is specifically funded to work with the Additional Support Team (AST). Providing leadership and support to the provision of high quality psychological care within AST.
The LD psychology team is part of the wider department of Psychological Services. As such, there are ample opportunities for networking with psychology colleagues from other specialities, and to become involved in service wide professional project work. We also have a varied in-house programme of CPD (including reflective practice groups and all department CPD events) and there is support to advance skills and knowledge relevant to the area of speciality. We also have very good links with national bodies.
Candidates must have a Post Graduate Doctoral level (or equivalent) degree in Clinical Psychology, be registered with the HCPC and have qualified experience of working with people with learning disabilities. Experience of working within a specialist psychological service or role for people with a learning disability and additional specialist training would be an advantage.
