This is a key role within the Enfield Pension Fund which leads on all governance and compliance across the administration team. The primary purpose of this role is to ensure that the Enfield Pension Fund and its scheme employers are fully compliant with LGPS regulations, the Pension Regulators Code of Conduct, the Governments Actuaries Department, HMRC and other government bodies. This role acts as the Pension Funds primary lead on all governance related matters and is direct support to the Pension Manager. The role is a key contact for Scheme employers, members of the Fund and stakeholders including members of the Local Pension Board on complex pension issues and associated statutory compliance. The advice and guidance provided by the post holder will feed directly into Scheme Employer policies e.g., the employer discretions policy and employers flexible retirement policy. As a senior member of the team, they will actively contribute to the smooth running of the service to coach and develop colleagues to help raise standards and productivity, which may require flexibility in working across teams. Maintain a comprehensive and up to date knowledge of all pensions related legislation, procedures, and current and emerging best practice within the pension arena. Ensure the pension team meets all its statutory, regulatory, and contractual obligations. Ensure that activities undertaken by the Pension Team are delivered in a consistent, standardised, and efficient manner and key performance indicators are met. The post holder will be the first point of contact for complex technical pension enquiries and will provide direct support to members of the pension scheme as well as employers and other service users and stakeholders. Apply professional, expert knowledge and experience to write, review and recommend policy changes to the Pension Fund as well as Scheme Employer policies e.g. early retirement, discretionary, admissions policies. Interpret LGPS Regulation timeline changes as they get agreed. Assist the Data & Projects Team Leader and Communications Officer with system changes and communication. Ensure members, Scheme Employers and stakeholders are aware of the changes as well as team member internally.
