This hands-on role will initiate and lead a new data practice within Roke, responsible for bringing together various repositories of enterprise data within a robust technology architecture and policy framework. You will be involved in the design and implementation of the enterprise data strategy, ensuring the strategy supports the current and future business needs. Your role will involve collaborating with Business and IT stakeholders at all levels to ensure the enterprise data strategy and associated implementation is adding value to the business. Responsible for corporate BI, the role-holder will establish a BI & analytics centre of excellence, assuring the quality of corporate BI reporting from the centre and ensuring stakeholders self-reporting is drawn from a single version of the truth. Initially the role-holder will work adjacent to the BI/reporting and data management/migration workstreams assigned to a multi-vendor enterprise systems and processes transformation programme Job Purpose & Key Responsibilities Own and support the corporate reporting suite and toolsets. Build a quality and architecture framework of principles to ensure data integrity across the business, including but not limited to ERP, BI, data/document stores and external interfaces. Assist the CIO (Chief Information Officer) to develop and deliver BI / reporting / analytics strategy and plans to support delivery of corporate objectives. Be a key influencer to core system development decisions around the storage, integration, aggregation and access of data across the Roke IT systems landscape Assist stakeholders to develop their key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide resulting reporting capability. Assist the governance team and other compliance-focused stakeholders to; Evolve data governance policies and procedures; Maintain data quality and security within the organisation; Assure compliance with data laws and standards (e.g. ISO 27001); Assure compliance with the requirements set out within our client frameworks e.g. Def Stan 05-138. Manage a migration from QlikSense BI and MS Excel onto PowerBI and our new SaaS enterprise software reporting tools A pragmatic hands-on role; comfortable setting out a strategy, refining a policy, developing a PowerBI dashboard, facilitating a workshop or designing and populating an ETL template Be a data quality champion, working with the business to cleanse and manage enterprise-wide corporate data Enable data-driven decision-making by spearheading creation of data analytics and insights to internal teams Required skills & Experience Experience of data and analytics architecture design across hybrid cloud/on-premise data platforms Experience as a BI function lead Evidence of assessing, workshopping, defining and improving an organisation’s data and analytics management maturity Excellent problem solving and data modelling skills; logical, physical, semantic and integration, including OLAP / OLTP principles and entity relationship analysis Evidence of involvement on an ERP project Implementation would be advantageous PowerBI experience, Boomi or similar iPaaS solution implementation experience advantageous IFS experience would be advantageous, but training will be given. Relevant industry experience would be an advantage, but not critical.
