Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The Clinical Teaching Fellow post is designed to support undergraduate education and develop the career of clinicians with an interest in medical education. One full-time equivalent post is available which will be 100% clinical education.
The primary role of this post is to enhance the quality of medical student education during the year 4 cancer care block with particular focus on key themes and skills relevant to Oncology and Haematology. In addition to delivering teaching in the clinical environment, the teaching fellow will be encouraged to contribute to the development/updating of current learning resources available to students undertaking their cancer care block, support development of clinical reasoning skills, and also support formative assessment. There may also be an opportunity to develop skills relating to summative assessments including question writing, editing, standard setting, and contributing to OSCE examinations.

Essential criteria
* MB ChB, MBBS or BMBS
* Full GMC registration
* Eligible to reside and work in the UK
* Completed Foundation training, or the equivalent
* If ST3 or above, eligible to take Out of Programme experience if required
* Previous NHS experience

* High level of proficiency in English, sufficient to undertake teaching and administrative activities utilising English Language materials and to communicate effectively with staff and students

* Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team

Disclosure and Barring Service Check
Please note if you are successful in obtaining this position and the post involves regulated activity you will be required to undertake a Disclosure & Barring Service check.
The Trust will pay for the check initially and the money will then be deducted from your salary over a three month period commencing on your first month's payment.
The current price of a check is £38 for an enhanced and £18 for a standard check.
