We are looking for two Policy Officers to join our Regulatory and Innovation Policy team in our Birmingham, Cardiff and/or London Office. The Policy Officer (Regulatory and Innovation Policy) role We have an ambitious and exciting three-year Corporate Strategy for 2023-2026. The Strategy, Innovation and External Affairs Directorate has a leading role in delivering this Strategy, working with the Executive and the Board. The Directorate is also responsible for identifying new projects that deliver our new strategic objectives. The role of the Policy Officer - Regulatory and Innovation Policy is to make an important contribution to development, delivery and implementation of policies likely to have a material impact on the market for legal services. You will also contribute to the development and conduct of rigorous impact assessments, including equality impact assessments, of policy proposals. With good policy development, organisation, communication, project management and research skills - your responsibilities will include conducting researches on specific policy areas, providing technical information for use by others involved in decision making, preparing and presenting information for internal and external reports, preparing consultation papers, policy documents, committee and board papers. This role is perfect for someone with experience in policy development and who is looking to further develop their career in regulation or public services. These are hybrid roles - one will be based in our Birmingham office and the other role can be based either in Birmingham, London or Cardiff. You will be required to work one to two days in the office and the rest of the week from home. Occasional travel will be required to the SRA's other offices (usually to our Birmingham office), or for meetings with stakeholders or attendance at events. This would be in addition to days at your home office. The salary for this role is £33,580 for Birmingham and Cardiff based and £36,938 for London based.
