Background and Role
IMCD UK is based in Sutton, Surrey, and employs over 230 people. Representing major producers, IMCD salespeople are market-focused technical experts who offer solutions for customers’ problems utilising the comprehensive and complementary product portfolio. Through its people, their expertise, and the creation of open and lasting partnerships, IMCD is able to analyse market trends and provide advice on formulation, production process and application, thus generating unrivalled growth for our principal partners.
Your responsibilities at IMCD:
1. Develop a strong understanding of the IMCD Supply Chain / overall business model including the key supply chain partners, the fundamental business processes and the diverse range of market sectors, customers and principal suppliers that we serve.
2. Build strong and effective relationships with supply chain partners, internal colleagues and support our relationships with both customers and principal suppliers.
3. Play a lead role in the review of non-conformances driving the required communications, issue resolution, system utilization, trend analysis and performance improvement.
4. Drive continual improvement with principal suppliers by using the non-conformance process, directly supporting our business teams.
5. Focus on operational performance management of the key supply chain partners using a structured and data-driven approach.
6. Actively manage and respond to live supply chain operational requirements, taking ownership to both help on and resolve issues that arise.
7. Support the Supply Chain Manager with the overall strategic agenda of Compliance, Performance, Solutions, Digital Transformation and Sustainability and contribute to key projects linked to business change and operational development.
8. Any other ad hoc tasks as required.
Ideal Candidate:
1. Professional approach, customer-focused and with a strong attention to detail.
2. Experience within a supply chain / logistics / international trade environment.
3. Strong IT skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
4. Strong analytical skills and able to identify key trends within data.
5. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
6. Effective organisational and time management skills.
7. Previous experience within one or more of our main market sectors (Food & Nutrition, Pharmaceutical, Industrial Solutions, Coatings & Construction, Home & Personal Care and Advanced Materials).
8. Previous experience of (chemical) distribution and/or sales & marketing industry.

2. Standard working hours, 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday. Opportunity for hybrid working, after initial training period.
