Procurement and Supply Chain Sector Lead

The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Procurement Sector Lead to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will lead procurement projects across the entire product lifecycle, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. As a key member of the team, you’ll establish robust project management frameworks, influence cross-functional teams, and represent procurement at the programme level.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage project lifecycles, including defining strategies and ensuring delivery within agreed budgets, timelines, and quality standards.
2. Act as the primary Procurement partner for programme teams and represent procurement at functional reviews.
3. Develop and maintain project artefacts such as project plans, risk registers, and budget trackers.
4. Support the wider procurement and supply chain teams with effective project management methodologies.
5. Drive procurement gate-reviews, product lifecycle tasks, and critical supply issue resolution.
6. Collaborate with internal teams including engineering, manufacturing, and quality to achieve programme goals.
7. Implement industry-standard project management frameworks aligned with company objectives.
8. Provide expert advice on project management tools and methodologies.
Location: Stevenage or Bolton (Relocation package available)
Salary: Circa £60,000 (depending on experience)
Working Arrangement: Hybrid (2 days per week on-site)
What We're Looking For:
1. Proven project management experience, preferably with project management qualifications.
2. Strong understanding of procurement core competencies (supplier evaluation, negotiation, risk management).
3. Creating and maintaining a Project Plan, Budget Tracker, Line of Balance, Risk Register, and any other project artefacts required to ensure proper project tracking and reporting.
4. Lead Procurement gate-reviews, manage and deliver Product Lifecycle tasks, manage critical supply issues, influence and actively participate in Programme & Manufacturing sector reviews.
5. Experience using project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially for data analysis and presentations.
7. Excellent communication, influencing, and problem-solving skills.
8. Background in aerospace and defence.
