What you will be doing
We are looking for a highly capable, forward-thinking Transactional & Transformational Finance Manager to lead our transactional finance teams while driving digital transformation and process improvement initiatives. This role requires a balance of strong operational management and strategic change leadership to enhance efficiencies, optimise workflows, and support our growth ambitions.
As the number two to the Head of Finance, you will oversee Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Credit Control, and the Cash & Bank teams, ensuring robust financial operations while spearheading continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Transactional Finance Management
Lead and manage the full transactional finance team (17 people), including 4 direct reports.
Oversee the end-to-end processes for AP, AR, Credit Control, and Cash & Bank.
Ensure timely and accurate processing of transactions, reconciliations, and reporting.
Process Improvement & Digital Transformation
Drive process optimisation across all transactional finance functions.
Work closely with IT, finance, and external vendors to implement new ERS system, tools, or upgrades.
Ensure the team is trained and adapting to new technologies and processes.
Leadership & People Management
Provide strong leadership, coaching, and mentorship to direct and indirect reports.
Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the transactional finance teams.
Conduct regular performance reviews, set objectives, and ensure development plans are in place.
Strategic & Business Support
Support the Head of Finance with strategic financial planning and operational decision-making.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align finance processes with wider business goals.
Ensure continuous compliance with internal controls, governance, and risk management practices.
What we are looking for:
Essential
Proven experience managing transactional finance functions (AP, AR, Credit Control, Cash & Bank).
Strong process improvement and digital transformation experience.
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams in a fast-paced finance environment.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills – ability to think outside the box.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Solid accounting knowledge (understanding of reconciliations, month-end, financial controls).
Experience acting as an escalation point for operational finance issues.
