Applicants should be highly organized and able to work on their own initiative, as well as effectively within a fast-paced team.
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based talking therapy that has been proven to help people with various difficulties, including drug and alcohol issues. CBT sessions will help individuals understand the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and learn healthy coping strategies for their day-to-day life. At Phoenix Futures, we deliver CBT on a one-to-one basis to support individuals as part of their recovery journey. We offer 6 – 8 sessions depending on need, with each session usually lasting for 50 minutes.
CBT is suitable for individuals who have motivation for change and some control regarding their drug or alcohol use. Within the Phoenix Futures service, the CBT we offer may not be suitable for people experiencing complex difficulties such as Alcohol Related Brain Damage (ARBD), complex trauma, daily or dependent substance use, or complex grief. If individuals are experiencing any of these difficulties, the Phoenix Futures service can help them get support from the appropriate onward service.
