Job Summary We are looking to recruit a placement student as a part of their ‘sandwich’ degree course. In this role you will work remotely under the Fundraising Manager as a part of our UK team, alongside our PR and Media and Fundraising Officer placement interns. You will be mentored in all desired aspects of running a successful small charity, with a main focus on organising and hosting fundraising events in the UK. About Act4Africa Act4Africa UK is the UK-based charity that has supported the Ugandan NGO for 24 years. Our aim of reducing poverty and transform communities focuses on improving gender equality through female empowerment. Our vision is to build confidence and capability amongst the most vulnerable women and girls. We aim to achieve this through our mission to listen to our communities, providing care and holistic education to transform their lives. Our Strong Mothers programme supports struggling adolescent mothers in rural Uganda through childcare and skills training. Key Responsibilities Report to Fundraising Manager and communicate with other placement students and part-time volunteers in UK team. Plan, organise and host fundraising events to raise funds and awareness for Act4Africa’s mission to empower women and girls in Uganda. Communicate with external partners and form relationships to aid the success of events and other fundraising.
