Our first home, KYN BICKLEY, opened in February 2023. KYN BICKLEY is an 86-bedroom home offering each resident an elegant and comfortable bedroom, communal areas for dining and reclining; and inviting outdoor terraces overlooking landscaped gardens bordered by woodland. We have a further three care homes in development in London.

About the opportunity
As a Commis Chef, you will be responsible for:
* Supporting the Head Chef and Sous Chef in the smooth running of the kitchen and the delivery of consistent, high quality, delicious and nutritious dishes to our residents.
* Ensuring that all dishes are prepared and presented in line with KYN’s exceptional standards.
* Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and best practices.
* Driving consistency of our food offering and ensuring menus are delivered to the agreed specification.
* Being organised and having high attention to detail to enable the team to deliver a seamless service to our residents.
* Monitoring health and safety, compliance, and procedures to maintain standards in both kitchen and dining teams.
* Ensuring the team adheres to all kitchen service standards in every task they undertake.
* Taking receipt of all deliveries.
* Carrying out mise-en-place in your allocated area of work to meet forecasted demands.
* Recording temperature checks on food and in storage areas as directed to ensure statutory requirements are met.
* Maintaining high standards of working practices in terms of personal appearance and working methods.
* Reporting all damage, hazards, and wear and tear occurring within your areas of work.
* Storing food items correctly and in rotation to minimise wastage using all company labelling and dating processes.
* Completing the opening/closing checklists on a daily basis.
* Maintaining a clean and tidy appearance and working in an orderly manner in line with brand standards and legal requirements.
* Ensuring all security and control procedures are strictly adhered to.
* Exceeding expectations and consistency in every role or task undertaken.
* Building relationships with our residents and fully understanding their needs.
* Minimising wastage through stock rotation and ensuring portion controls are adhered to.
* Ensuring all stock is stored and rotated correctly in accordance with KYN’s policies and food safety regulations.
* Having a good knowledge and working practice of health and safety and food safety within a kitchen.
* Ensuring the kitchen has adequate supplies of clean utensils, crockery, and other equipment.
* Understanding and respecting our residents’ privacy and confidentiality.
* Leading by example and acting as a role model to the kitchen team in terms of work ethic, service quality, and professional skills.
* Communicating, liaising, and building relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
About you
* Experience of working within a similar hospitality venue.
* A professional with a proven track record of delivering and maintaining kitchen standards at the highest level.
* Strong communication skills, an approachable manner, and an eye for detail.
* Passionate with the ability to drive standards that exceed expectations.
