We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, adaptable and resilient English teacher to work in a secondary school in Oldham for children with Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs (SEMH).
This is a temporary full-time long-term supply role for a qualified English teacher from January to July 2025.
The Role
English Teacher for secondary aged pupils with SEMH needs
Monday to Friday 8:30am-3:30pm.
Positive confident behaviour management skills
Innovative teacher able to adapt lessons to the differing needs and levels of students.
Students will be of mixed ability, age and backgrounds.
A teacher with strong leadership skills able to direct and effectively TAs to managing challenging behaviour while engaging, motivating & building strong relationships with your pupils.
You will also need to collaborate with school management, parents and outside professionals.
The school are keen to meet with QTS English teachers and SEND teachers with a degree in English or similar subject and early career English teachers with an interest in SEND teaching.

To join us and be successful in this SEND English Teacher role, you will need to:
Hold QTS Status or QTLS
Recent experience of teaching English to students aged 11 to 16
This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional references checks
Provide a CV with a full employment/education history included and any employment breaks must be explained
Have the legal right to work in the UK
