Are you a dietitian with a passion for paediatrics?
We have a unique opportunity for a Band 5 to fast-track their career in our Community Paediatrics Service HMR, by undertaking a Band 5 to Band 6 development role. We are looking for an enthusiastic dietitian to join our team of three dietitians, a dietetic assistant and admin support.
You will offer a person-centred approach to aid independence and wellbeing, going the extra mile to ensure compassionate and personalised patient care. In return you will join a supportive team environment and be provided with robust personal development opportunities which will be fully funded.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be jointly responsible (dependant on experience) in setting up a weight management service, working with outside agencies in the borough. If desired, there will be opportunity to deliver other caseloads including enteral feeding and oral nutrition support (in homes, specials schools and outpatients), faltering growth, children with allergies and other general conditions.
The department is established as trainers for placements for dietetic students each year and you will be actively involved in student training and the training of other health professionals, as required.
Candidates must be qualified dietitians registered with the HCPC, with excellent communication skills and a flexible approach.
Applicant with Proof of HCPC Registration Pending for 2024/25 will be considered.

Person specification
* BSc/MSc Nutrition and Dietetics or Post Graduate Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics
* HCPC registration
* Membership of the BDA
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
* Good Knowledge of Nutrition and Dietetics and an understanding of the dietary management of common conditions requiring diet therapy
* Awareness of the HCPC Standards of conduct, performance and ethics and Standards of proficiency
* Knowledge of clinical governance
* Knowledge of different ethnic cultures and religions
* Well-developed communication skills with people from a wide variety of backgrounds
* Ability to convey complex information in an understandable way
* Computing Skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to demonstrate organisational skills including time management, prioritising and the ability to complete a task.
* Ability to work autonomously within code of practice with peer support.
