An opportunity has arisen within the Arb and Countryside team for an Arb & Countryside Maintenance Operative. Your responsibilities will be: To undertake Arboreal and Countryside Maintenance operations, including the use and maintenance of appropriate equipment for hedge cutting, shrub pruning, woodland thinning, vegetation management, feathering/lifting of trees, tree works and tree planting operations. You must have City & Guilds Level 2 Certificate of Competence (old CS30-CS31) in Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross-cutting in Felling Small Trees up to 380mm or The commitment to pass Level 2 of competence within 9 months of starting the post. Min 3 years’ experience within the Grounds Maintenance environment A good understanding of Health and Safety including COSHH, Risk Assessments, Working at Height, and Safe Methods of Work. Ability to drive a variety of council vehicles Ability to operate a range of mechanical and manual horticultural/arboreal tools. Interviews will take place at Taylors Lane Depot, Oldbury.
