Centara Ltd, an affiliate of the RSK Group Ltd, is actively recruiting Substation Drawing Technician/ Drawing Management Technicians to join our Engineering team in Normanton, Wakefield. As a specialist service provider in the Power Transmission and Generation sector, Centara Engineering offers tailored services for design and drawing management across the UK, serving the majority of the nation’s power distribution network and system operators. This position presents an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking a fresh challenge. It is a multifaceted role that promises variety and growth. Candidates will either learn or apply existing skills in AutoCAD, Document Control, Auditing, and Administration, contributing to multiple processes across various key frameworks. The role combines both office and site work, involving travel throughout the UK. Overnight stays are anticipated, contingent on project locations. For site visits, we provide a company pool vehicle or fuel card, along with pre-booked and prepaid accommodations and meals, including a stay-away bonus for each night spent away from home. Key Objectives: Ensuring document and drawing accuracy to meet client standards Providing site survey reports to clients regarding drawing status and conditions Aligning the Site Drawing Index (SDI) with actual site drawing status Verifying that the client-provided Contract Drawing Lists (CDL) match all returned documents and drawings Removing redundant and obsolete drawings from existing site filing systems Updating drawings based on site hand mark-ups Establishing new site filing structures and systems Responsibilities and Duties: On-site scanning of drawings Maintaining reports using the Microsoft Office Suite Modifying drawings using AutoCAD General document and drawing control Ensuring drawing quality through auditing Returning and filing drawings within site filing systems Creating new on-site filing systems Providing general office administration support Regularly reporting progress to supervisors and line managers Acting as the client interface and point of contact during on-site activities, including site scanning, drawing system restructuring, and scheme closures (As-Installed Schemes-Returns) Collaborating effectively as part of a team Occasionally working alone on-site Desirable Experience: Proficiency in reporting and excellent communication skills Advantageous experience in the Power & Distribution Industry Familiarity with AutoCAD Knowledge of DSO and DNO technical procedures High attention to detail and accuracy Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Office suite Self-motivated, well-organized, and proactive with strong communication and time management skills Flexibility and a proactive approach to work Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Proficiency in reading and translating drawings Salary and Benefits: Salary £25,000 per annum (Depending of experience) 20 days of holiday plus Bank Holidays Stay-away bonus Expenses covered for offsite work Flexible office schedule On-site parking Ongoing training and development Company pension scheme Cycle-to-work scheme Life Assurance Electric vehicle scheme Digital GP Service Gym discounts Option to purchase additional annual leave Engineering rskfamily recruitment RSK will not accept unsolicited CVs from agencies other than RSK PSL or Secondary agencies.
