Due to the retirement of the current post-holder, we are looking to appoint a new manager for our in-house Catering Team.
Hutton Grammar is a Church of England 11-18 comprehensive school, judged 'Good' in all areas by Ofsted in May 2022 and 'Outstanding' by SIAMS in 2018. The school admits boys only at 11-16 and boys and girls in the Sixth Form.
We have a busy and popular school kitchen and are looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working Catering Manager to lead and further develop our Catering Team.
The post-holder will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of catering management including:
1. Managing orders and stock
2. Line management of catering staff
3. Designing and implementing menus
4. Management of the catering budget
5. Record keeping in relation to food hygiene, allergens, kitchen health and safety
6. Staff training and related policies and procedures
7. Overseeing the future development of our catering offer
8. Liaising with our cashless catering provider
The school currently runs a breakfast service before school and a limited break time service in our Sixth Form Centre in addition to the lunch service each day. We are looking for someone who can use their experience and knowledge to generate new ideas to build on our current catering offer to ensure it is efficient, profitable, and meets the needs of our students, staff, and parents.
Experience of large scale catering is essential, as is an up to date understanding of food hygiene and allergen requirements, health and safety relating to catering, and nutritional standards required in schools. Experience of managing staff and working in a school kitchen would be an advantage but is not an essential requirement.

The post holder will work Monday-Friday during term time plus an additional 5 days which are to be worked on 3 in school INSET days and 2 days during the summer holidays to coincide with GCSE results day. Additional hours will also be required for school events such as Open Evenings. The actual salary will be between £24,270 and £27,698 due to the term time nature of the post. #J-18808-Ljbffr
