Join Our Team as a Team Teach Trained Teaching Assistant!
Connex Education is seeking a Team Teach Trained Teaching Assistant to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a supportive and inclusive school in Barking. This role is perfect for individuals with experience in behaviour management who are dedicated to creating a safe, structured, and positive learning environment.

Who We’re Looking For
We are searching for a passionate and resilient individual who meets the following criteria:
Team Teach certification (essential)
Experience working with SEN, SEMH, and behavioural needs
Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques
Ability to provide 1:1 and small group support, adapting to individual learning needs
Patience, empathy, and resilience in challenging situations
A positive and proactive mindset when supporting students' well-being
A DBS check on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
Key Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 and small group support, helping students engage with their learning
* Implement Team Teach strategies to encourage positive behaviour and de-escalate situations
* Support the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs)
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff to maintain an inclusive learning environment
* Help students build independence, confidence, and resilience through structured interventions
* Monitor and provide feedback on student progress, behaviour, and emotional well-being
* Support students with personal care or sensory needs if required
