We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Environmental Health Officer specializing in Food and Health & Safety for our commercial operations. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our food safety standards and health regulations are upheld in all commercial environments, promoting public health, safety, and sustainability. You will conduct inspections, assess risks, and implement necessary measures to manage food-related hazards and promote compliance with legislation. Your expertise will be crucial in educating staff and businesses on best practices related to food hygiene and health & safety standards, as well as investigating any incidents or complaints regarding food safety issues. Collaboration with enforcement agencies, local organizations, and community stakeholders will also be a key aspect of your role. Through proactive risk management and continuous monitoring, you will help maintain the health and safety standards that our communities deserve, contributing to a cleaner, safer environment for everyone. Responsibilities
Conduct regular inspections of food establishments to assess compliance with food safety regulations.
Investigate foodborne illness outbreaks and complaints regarding food safety issues.
Provide guidance and support to food business operators on best practices for food hygiene and safety management.
Develop and implement training programs for staff in food handling and health & safety regulations.
Prepare detailed reports on inspections, investigations, and enforcement actions taken.
Collaborate with local health authorities and other stakeholders to enhance public health initiatives.
Monitor and review food safety legislation and ensure that businesses are informed of changes.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, or a related field.
Relevant professional certification in food safety or health & safety management.
Experience in environmental health, specifically in food safety and health & safety inspections.
Strong understanding of food safety legislation and standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for educating staff and stakeholders.
Proficient in data collection and analysis to assess food safety compliance.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Hours Per Week: 37.00
Start Time: 09:00
End Time: 17:00
Pay Per Hour: £34.89
Location: Kirkby-In-Ashfield, Nottingham
