We are deeply integrated into the payment eco-system. In the UK, we are direct participants of Faster Payments and Bacs. Modulr hold settlement accounts at the Bank of England. Our payment network connectivity includes CHAPS, Open Banking, SEPA, SWIFT and account issuance in multiple currencies.
Our regulatory permissions and governance structure are the foundations of our business. We are regulated and supervised as an Authorised Electronic Money Institution (AEMI) in the UK by the Financial Conduct Authority and in the Netherlands by De Nederlandsche Bank.
Modulr now has over 400 employees spread globally across offices in London, Edinburgh, Amsterdam, and Mumbai.

The team
The wider business teams are based in Edinburgh, London, Amsterdam and Mumbai. Modulr has an office-first policy as face-to-face and ad hoc collaboration will maximise our ability to meet our ambitious growth and profitability goals. In practice, we expect our colleagues to be in-office at least 4 days per week [role may require 5 days].
The role
Summary
The Reconciliations Analyst is a vital role within Modulr working within the Payment Operations Team. This is a great opportunity to have an impact on the reporting function of a scaling regulated business.
Specific duties
* Reconciliation: Perform daily reconciliation of payment transactions, ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded and balanced across internal systems and external partners.
* Investigating and identifying root causes of non-reconciled items, liaising with stakeholders across various teams (e.g., Finance, Engineering, Product, and customer service) and driving forward resolution to reduce reoccurrences.
* Assist with the management and escalation of any internal policy breaches/ regulatory breaches, carry out remediation and define mitigating factors.
* Support the creation of internal and external reporting requirements and MI.
* Identifying requirement daily treasury movements and completing these within strict timelines.
* Complete internal processes, keep process documentation updated, share best practice, and highlight improvements and efficiencies.
* Develop into a Payment operations subject matter expert.
* Support ad-hoc incident management where required, including monthly on-call out of hours support for incidents and payment queries.
About you
The successful Reconciliations Analyst will have a track record in delivering results in a fast-moving scaling business and hence you must be comfortable with change and uncertainty. More specifically the ideal candidate will have:
* Previous experience in payments, reconciliations, and treasury within an operational environment.
* Knowledge and previous experience working with at least one of the UK payments schemes and/or international schemes.
* Awareness of financial regulations and breach identification and reporting.
* Experience of investigating payment failures and exceptions.
