As a Residential Childcare Worker, you will make positive relationships with the children and young people.
You will provide support that enables the young people to develop life skills, confidence, and help improve their self-esteem.
As a Residential Childcare Worker, you will be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
You will encourage the young people to partake in a range of activities and develop life skills that enhance their quality of life.
The salary range does include some sleep-ins.
Residential Childcare Worker Role:
* Support young people by showing awareness of their individual interests and preferences, by introducing them to a range of different experiences and enabling them to make informed choices wherever possible.
* Plan and organise activities on a daily basis as well as for special celebrations and festivals.
* Participate in holidays and a range of sporting and physical activities with children and young people.
* Work directly with young people in accordance with agreed individual programmes and strategies e.g., anger management, self-esteem.
* Consult in a meaningful way with young people and their families.
* Follow their individual support plan and provide emotional support.
Residential Childcare Worker Skills / Qualifications:
* Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (England) or earlier equivalent (NVQ) or willingness to attain this.
* Excellent communication skills - ability to communicate with residents, team members, and other professionals such as social workers.
* Experience in a residential setting or working and caring for young people with behavioral and emotional difficulties.
