Long Acres Gardens was established in 2010 and now employs a team of skilled professionals offering garden maintenance for small domestic gardens to larger estates in and around Henley in Arden and Warwickshire.
Job Role:
We are looking for a Lead Gardener who is passionate about horticulture to become part of our core team to manage the day-to-day running of the gardening business as well as deliver ongoing maintenance services, developing the gardens to look their best. You must take pride in your work and strive to improve your knowledge and skills.
The successful candidate must have:
* A full UK driving licence.
* Previous experience of no less than 3 years working in a high-quality horticultural establishment ideally in a high-end domestic or estate setting.
* Excellent horticulture knowledge.
* The ability to work to high standards and be effective and efficient when working on your own or as part of the wider team.
* Previous experience operating a range of horticultural equipment including push mowers, strimmers, hedge cutting equipment etc.
* Certificates in spraying (PA1 PA6) are preferable.
* Experience of turfing desirable, but not essential.
* Excellent awareness of Health & Safety issues and implementing procedures.
* Be able to work efficiently, whilst still maintaining high attention to detail.
* Be physically fit and able.
* Experience implementing quality standards and working to customer specifications.
* Good customer and people skills.
* Be well presented, hardworking and polite.
* Reliable, honest & trustworthy.
Additional duties include:
* Lawn mowing, weeding, planting, hedge cutting.
* Ensuring all tools are present & maintaining them appropriately to minimise damage and loss.
* Keeping the van clean, tidy & well organised.
* Accurately logging jobs and identifying plants accurately.
* Buying materials as needed and driving the vans (manual).
* Being responsible for customer’s keys and liaising with customers.
* Liaising with management regarding job requirements & feedback from customers.
* Being point of contact for site deliveries.
