A new role has become available within one of the leading Multi Utilities companies in the UK. It is a new position within our clients business (new level to their management team) therefore, looking for the right person to join the team and drive the business forward.
Job Summary
Responsible for the Electric HV Department's performance and activities of all HV Electric Staff and Operatives. To liaise with colleagues internally to ensure best practice is shared across regions with peers. Collaboratively working with the Utility's Heads and Senior Operations Managers promoting a combined service offering ensuring customers' requirements are met in line with expectations. Driving a positive H&S culture and pro-active approach in developing our clients service offering.
Key Responsibilities:
✓ Assist and support the Electric Manager in the development of the Electric Department and offering;
✓ Contribute as a member of the Senior Management Team to the development of the company strategy and to the business plan.
✓ Manage and support the Electric HV Department to achieve the Triconnex company objectives;
✓ Implement, manage and monitor the TriConnex Accreditations (Lloyds, NERs etc) and associated documentation.
✓ Overall responsibility for the HV Electric projects delivered in line with both internal and external customers' expectations and in accordance with current DNO/iDNO Industry Standards and Best Practice.
✓ Commercial awareness of contract performance including Unit Cost Indicators, Sub-contract and Material Management.
✓ To review the works schedule to ensure tasks are undertaken and the correct resources are in place, KPI Data Analysis and Process Performance
✓ Drive the recruitment and development of Staff in-line with Business Requirements, guide and monitor their development with one to ones and personal development plans. Identifying key objectives;
✓ Support and work with the heads of departments to ensure safe working practices are in place promoting a positive H&S working culture;
✓ Drive innovation within the department and extend business offering where opportunities arise
✓ Liaise with senior and local representatives of third-party organisations e.g. Developers, Contractors, Lloyds, DNO & iDNO to build strong relations and network of contacts;
Person Specification:
Knowledge:
✓ Operational Experience within the Electricity Industry, Electrical technologies, techniques, specifications and standards/codes of practice upto and including 11Kv
✓ Operational Experience for Assessing Risk. Identification of associated risk, preventative measures, management system procedures and methods of communication.
✓ Knowledge of highways and developer sector
✓ Impact of customer service on business performance.
✓ Knowledge and awareness of continuous improvement techniques and process development
Experience/Qualifications:
✓ Strong proven background within an operational position within the Electricity Industry upto and including 11KV.
✓ Previous experience within a management or supervisory position.
✓ Proven experience of developing and mentoring personnel.
✓ NRSWA, SMSTS, EUSR. and CSCS cards/certification.
✓ Experience driving a positive H&S culture.
