The Role
As Head of Ecommerce, you will lead our Ecommerce Trading Team based in London, defining and implementing a high-performance strategy to maximise revenue and enhance the customer experience across our group websites. You will bring strong strategic and leadership skills to build, develop, and execute the long-term trading strategy. By identifying opportunities to enhance the customer journey, you will play a key role in achieving company growth targets. This position is crucial for driving the future of our business, collaborating closely with Marketing, Buying, Merchandising, Customer Experience, and Visual Content teams.
Responsibilities
* Work closely with Directors to define, develop, and execute an effective trading strategy.
* Oversee and approve promotional content and campaigns.
* Support the Ecommerce Trade team in achieving KPIs, including conversion rate, bounce rate, average order value (AOV), exit rates, and traffic.
* Analyze onsite performance reports and make proposals to improve product merchandising and conversion.
* Oversee the implementation of trading and promotional strategies across the group’s sites, aligned with the brand's voice.
* Encourage collaboration across teams, especially with Visual Content and Copywriter teams, to ensure timely product requirements.
* Build strong relationships with Marketing to ensure activity requirements are actioned promptly.
* Establish systems to maintain brand consistency in online trading communications while ensuring high commercial effectiveness.
* Identify and maximize cross-selling opportunities across all sites.
* Stay up to date with ecommerce innovations, online retailing trends, and logistics that could impact trade performance.
Skills and Requirements
* Degree in a relevant subject (e.g., Fashion, Merchandising, Marketing).
* Minimum of 8 years’ experience in online trading/merchandising, including team leadership.
* Proven strategic experience in ecommerce activities.
* Strong working knowledge of ecommerce platforms, ideally Shopify.
* Experience in international group trading.
* Proficiency with major ecommerce platforms, tools, and backend systems.
* Advanced IT skills (Microsoft Office, particularly Excel/Google Sheets).
* Data-driven and highly analytical approach.
* Strong decision-making and organizational skills with excellent time management.
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
* Detail-oriented with strong attention to accuracy.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
