Main duties of the job There is an exciting vacancy for a band 3 Speech and Language Therapy Assistant to join our Community Learning Disability Team in the East Hampshire and Southampton Team. You can be based at either our Fareham or Southampton office. We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our dynamic multidisciplinary team (MDT) providing a service to adults with a learning disability. The successful candidate will need to have a positive approach and willingness to learn new skills in this varied and interesting role. You will need to be motivated, reliable and able to work flexibly. What we can offer you: -Regular supervision with a qualified SLT -Experience of working in a Specialist Learning Disabilities Setting -Experience of working with individuals with varying needs/conditions, including: Autism, Down Syndrome and Dementia -Professional Development through in-house and/or external training -Opportunity to develop clinical skills -A well-developed appraisal and supervision structure -Close working relationships with other professionals in the MDT and other agencies Access to transport and ability to efficiently complete community visits is essential.
