Job summary This is an exciting opportunity for candidates to join a progressive, dynamic and cohesive team of12 consultants at St Richards Hospital, Chichester for a 12-month period with the aim to advertise asubstantive role subsequently. The successful applicant will be expected to provide generalobstetrics and gynaecology services, contributing to delivery suite presence, and contributingflexibly to the needs of the department to address performance targets in gynaecology andobstetrics. The post is varied and will provide sufficient scope to maintain dual specialty skills. There issignificant opportunity to train juniors and provide support to an active teaching programme. Exactdetails of the job plan are negotiable with the option of providing ambulatory gynaecologicalservices including hysteroscopy, colposcopy or scanning sessions within our new communitydiagnostic centre Main duties of the job Provide outpatient and inpatient services in the Women's Health Directorate at St RichardsHospital and potentially other sites within the trust. Contribute to the gynaecology services with weekly special interest clinics, general outpatientclinics, backfill week theatre and regular antenatal clinics. Provide alternate week 24 hour Consultant of the Day on call cover on Thursdays (08:30-22:00 onsite) and 1:8 weekend cover (08:30-11:00 and 20:00-22:00 on site). Contribute to departmental audit, research and governance. Actively engage with junior doctor teaching programme and provide ultrasound scan teaching.
