Bolton Muslim Girls’ School is an 11-16 Faith Academy with an Islamic ethos, having over 720 learners on roll. The school is a welcoming, vibrant, and successful place to learn.
The school is a highly regarded non-selective maintained school. For its GCSE results, the school is placed in the top 20% of schools nationally based on progress.
The post requires someone with a good understanding of different strategies to enhance parental engagement and inspire learners to raise and exceed their aspirations.
The successful candidate will enhance our curriculum provisions, impacting teaching and learning to enrich each child’s whole school experience. Our learners are welcoming and friendly, and many come from disadvantaged backgrounds. Pupil Premium, Free School Meals, EAL, and SEN numbers are below national averages.
Some of our learners have low starting points academically. This makes Bolton Muslim Girls’ School a highly stimulating place to work because every day we truly make a difference in children’s lives. Our destination data shows that virtually all learners enter work, college, or apprenticeships post-16, and a significant number of our former learners gain entry to university.
If you feel you can thrive in a school like ours and share our core values of Respect, Resilience, Tolerance, Faith, Honesty, Good Manners, Kindness, and Aspiration, then we look forward to receiving your application and meeting you in the future.
Please ensure you complete the TES online application form fully, including:
1. A full work history
2. Naming two referees, one of which must be your current employer
3. A letter/statement of application not exceeding three sides of A4, addressing areas identified in the post description and person specification
We had an Ofsted visit in Dec 2022, and the school has been judged Requires Improvement. The new Ofsted framework emphasizes a rich and varied curriculum and how it is taught, rather than pupil progress and attainment in GCSEs. Regardless of the current Ofsted grading of Requires Improvement, the school has maintained its ranking in the top 20% nationally for Progress 8. The school’s GCSE results have been top of the borough for the last five consecutive years, showcasing a track record of sustainable school improvements.
Bolton Muslim Girls’ School is always over-subscribed with first-choice applications. To meet the growing demands for places and due to the school’s popularity as a high-achieving school, we have undergone rapid expansion in terms of our curriculum, estate, and pupil numbers. We have upgraded our facilities on the second and third floors of the Mill to create diverse spaces for Design & Technology, Art, Food Technology, RS, changing facilities for P.E., Music, Computing, Electronics, Resistant Material, textile, and open space for Assemblies/Exams/Events. These provisions have significantly enhanced the learning environment for our students.
"Leaders have high expectations of pupils’ behaviour. Most pupils meet these expectations. Classrooms are calm and orderly places. Pupils settle to their work and behave very well in lessons" - Ofsted December 2022
"Pupils are exceptionally keen to do well in class. Their concentration in lessons helps them to learn and remember more" - Ofsted December 2022
